Box making

I made this box to hold all of my heirloom sewing and knitting paraphernalia from my Grandmother. I used a metal shear to cut the box pieces so they aren’t perfectly perfect but the marbled paper is really good at camouflaging those kinds of mishaps. The paper I marbled this spring and next time I have a session I should try to make two sheets of each pattern so I have enough to cover larger boxes. This box measures 10.25″ x 7.25″ and I didn’t have enough marbled paper to cover all of the interior so I used some solid paper to complete the centre section. I used a latex based clear coat over the entire box to protect the marbled paper, it gives it a nice sheen.
